“Stellar Nocturne” – Celestial night sky pendant necklace.

A wearable piece of the midnight sky. This one of a kind pendant necklace features a brilliant blue checker-cut labradorite that holds a galaxy of light within its facets. Every detail is a tribute to the quiet beauty of the cosmos.

At the center of the piece is a genuine checker-cut labradorite, selected for its brilliant blue labradorescence and geometric precision. The stone’s unique facets act as a vessel for light, shifting through shades of deep azure and vibrant cerulean with every movement.

The setting is entirely and meticulously hand forged in solid sterling silver, featuring a crescent moon and a pair of “star-crossed” shooting stars on the front side, and an open crescent moon on the reverse side. The pendant sits on a solid sterling silver diamond cut cable chain, finished with a sterling silver toggle clasp.

THE DETAILS

-Genuine oval cut and checker faceted Labradorite is the star of this show, and sets the stage for our celestial scene. It is of exceptional quality in cut, faceting, color, and flash. Deep blue patterning throughout the crystal structure of the stone appears like waves or whisps of clouds in the sky. The blue flash, which is true cerulean and azure blue, is vibrant and present throughout the stone.

-Setting is solid sterling silver throughout, entirely and meticulously built by hand with my hand tools and skills. Because it was hand forged and not casted or machined, it is truly one of a kind and can never be exactly duplicated. Setting features a rustic and textured crescent moon with two “star-crossed” shooting stars on the front side, and a smooth crescent moon on the reverse side.

-Pendant measures 39mm (about 1 1/2″) tall, (not including top loop which adds about 10mm or 3/8″), 32mm (about 1 1/4″) width, and 8mm (3/16″) deep at it’s deepest part.

-Chain is a 1.5mm solid sterling silver diamond cut cable chain finished with a solid sterling silver toggle clasp,  24 inches in length. It is sturdy yet elegant, and sparkles like a dream. Chain length can be altered upon request.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Designed for those who find peace in the celestial, Stellar Nocturne is more than a pendant; it is a wearable piece of the night sky, captured in silver and stone.

This design is an exploration of the quiet, expansive beauty found in the deep and vibrant midnight sky, and our ever present wonder at its majesty and mystery.

The front side is a glimmering crystalline scene- By pairing raw, hand crafted metalwork with the precision of the stone’s facets, lit up in an aurora of blue, it embodies the sharp, sparkling elegance of the cosmos. My grown-up self loves this.

The reverse side has a smooth and organic, flowing nature about it- The stone reveals layered whisps and waves of patterning and color, like galactic clouds, with the open crescent moon perched atop- inspiring a bit of childlike awe and wonder at what mysteries are up there just waiting to reveal themselves in a quiet moment. My inner-child self loves this.

I will never tire of gazing at the night sky, and I consider this piece to be a true and honest homage from both my inner child, and my grown-up artisan jeweler selves.
