This piece is about the tension and relationship between confinement and choice.

The vertical lines read like barriers at first, structures imposed, rules inherited, systems we didn’t design but must move within. Yet they are not solid walls. Light slips through them. Space exists between them. He doesn’t push outward in anger or desperation. Instead, he pauses, grips, and look upwards.

There is vulnerability in his posture, but also resolve. He hasn’t surrendered to the confines around him. He is learning how to exist inside them without losing himself. This is the moment where resistance softens into awareness, where survival becomes intention.

The deep blues and dark tones speak to uncertainty, introspection, and emotional depth. The warmer highlights remind us that even in limitation, there is warmth, desire, and life pressing forward.

This work isn’t about breaking free all at once.
