Description

These asymmetrical spike earrings are all about structure and presence. I hammer forged them out of solid sterling silver stock just to see if I could. The result was a fabulous pair of earrings that have a solidity and a flow, a nice contrast of light and dark, and a well balanced profile while being different lengths to each other for visual fun. I like to think of these as both fierce and refined, structural and organic, edgy and classy.

Earrings were hammer forged by hand of solid 8 gauge sterling stock into their unique spike shapes which are wide side to side at the top and taper to a spike at the bottom which is deep front to back to add balance. They were then meticulously refined and filed to ensure they are durable, beautiful and long lasting. They have been antiqued to bring out the contrast in the lines and textures.

THE DETAILS

-Earrings are solid sterling silver, hammer forged from 8 gauge round stock into asymmetrical spike shapes, and antiqued for contrast.

-Earring measurements – Longer earring is 62mm (just under 2 1/2″) total length from top of earring hook to bottom of spike, 6mm (1/4″) wide at it’s widest part, and 5mm deep at it’s deepest point. Shorter earring is 54mm (2 1/8″) total length from top of earring hook to bottom of spike, and the same width and depth as the longer earring.

-These have some weight to them as they are solid throughout, but still light enough to be comfortable, with nice movement and light play.

-Earring hooks are solid sterling silver.
