Due To Popular Demand, It’s Here…

I just released a series of calendars that I am happy to say, made a big hit… But they didn’t make a big splash. I have had several request for a “Rafi Marine Art” Calendar… Like… a lot of requests. My plan was to release it next year, because… franky, designing calendars is not really the funnest thing in the world to do. But, I love you guys and want you to have it this year.

So, here it is!

marine-7
2018 Marine Creatures Art Calendar has a collection of my colorful and bold water animals that I work on when inspired. The idea with this calendar was to bring a little of that calm and beauty to any space. This calendar has no suggested nudity.

Then, as I was going through the multitude of images that I have, I ran across a series that I wanted as a calendar for myself… Although, I’ll probably buy them all.

I am excited to bring you the adorable Love IS Series.

Love-is-7
2018 Love IS… Art Calendar has a collection of my colorful and happy little characters that only have one purpose in life, to inspire and bring you joy. The idea with this calendar was to bring a little bit of color, fun, and happiness into any space. This calendar has no suggested nudity.

And that’s it… These five calendars are it for 2018. 🙂

Best of The Coast 2017 – Will You Vote For Us?

As some of you know, I won best artist for 2016 which was so awesome and I can’t thank you enough for making that happen. I’ve gotten to use it as boasting rights well into 2017 with statements like “Oh yeah? Well, were you voted best artist of the coast for 2016? I think not!”

Rafi and Klee Best Of The Coast

Actually, I don’t do that at all, I get really shy around people that congratulate me for the award, then I secretly try to change the subject.

Don’t get me wrong, I am proud of the accomplishment, and I am so grateful to everyone that voted for me, but I’m a weird bird that is still working on receiving compliments and recognition.

Rafi and Klee Best Of The Coast

That being said, there are two days left to vote. and I would love for you to vote for Klee and I if you are absolutely in love with our work.

Here’s the thing, we love you whether you vote for us or not, but it would be really cool for you to vote for your favorite peeps regardless if they are us or not.

Rafi and Klee Best Of The Coast

Head over to Best of the Coast Voting and submit your ballot by July 31st.

Please keep me in mind for the Best Artist Click Here.

And Klee Angelie Jewelry for Best Unique Jewelry Click Here.

Thank you for your continued love and support!!! You guys are SO AWESOME!!

What Will I Do With This Chair? Art Chair!

I was invited to create something new out of something old that will be something awesome for something that we all care about.

This old chair that you see pictured here will be converted into a work of art… maybe even one you can sit on. This is for “From Blue To Better Campaign” to prevent child abuse.

Art Chair By Rafi Perez

I recently did a mural for Child Abuse Awareness at the Graffiti Bridge, which if I’m honest with you, was a little outside of my comfort zone… but, it is for such a great campaign that I had to try it.

This is a little outside of my comfort zone as well, I’ve never created an “art chair” and of course my mind is trying to over think it with all kinds of elaborate plans, that are a bit ridiculous. That being said, what I have planned is going to blow you away… just sayin. Wish me luck, hope I can pull it off.

Art Chair By Rafi Perez

If you get a chance to be there, I will be putting the finishing touches on it on Thursday, 6pm, April 6th, 2017 at Beyond The Grape at the Cordova Mall, where you will be able to buy a raffle ticket and win the chair.

Here is More Info From Event:

“Wine Tasting And Live Painting Thursday April 6th 6-9pm in support of the From Blue To Better Campaign to prevent child abuse. What goes better with wine than a delicious pairing of live art. Join Rafi Was Here Studios – Artist Rafi Perez on Thursday April 6th from 6-9pm at Beyond the Grape at Cordova Mall, right across from Red Robin. He will paint one of our former conference room chairs to be raffled off that evening. There will be complimentary wine tasting and a special 15% discount on bottles purchases that night. Munch on light hors d’oeuvres and enjoy a fun evening of Wine, Art and Food! Beyond The Grape will host a wine tasting with their range of specialty Florida fruit and infused wines as well as their monthly selections of the best traditional varietals from around the world. Day Of The Dead Pensacola

Yesterday Klee and I attended the Day Of The Dead Celebration at first city arts center. I had submitted a work of art for the celebration and was looking forward to donning my best “dead” attire.

Day of the dead Rafi and Klee
From The Left, Rafi (me), Klee, Monica, and James

Art Beyond Walls and First City Art Center hosted the first ever Day of the Dead festival on opening day of Pensacola’s Foo Foo Fest.

Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the dead) is a traditional Mexican holiday, that honors family members who have passed away. Basically, celebrating those who may have passed physically, but are still here spiritually. A day where the veil between both worlds is blurred.

Day of the dead Rafi and Klee  Live music, art, altars, face painting, a second-line processional, food trucks with authentic Mexican food (yum), hot glass demos, live story recordings, children’s activities and a Day of the Dead art market were part of the festivities.

This was a blast, the murals, the fire dancing, the art, the vibe, the whole thing was pretty awesome. I was honored to have my art displayed in the way that it was.

Day of the dead Rafi and Klee

This was the first day of Foo Foo Fest, and a fantastic start to the festival. Take a look at all the awesome stuff they have in store for Pensacola at http://www.foofoofest.com/events/

As for now we bid you goodbye Muahahahahaha!

The Power Of A Child

“When you dream, you are free…to be the things you want to be. When you dream, you are free…to see the things you want to see. Sometimes in my dreams I fly, through the starry, starry sky. When I see the moon I laugh, it’s a great big bed for the tall giraffe.” -Anonymous

The Power Of A Child By Rafi Perez
The Power Of A Child – Acrylic On Canvas  24X30

We know that kids have big imaginations. But sometimes we forget just how powerful they can be. We forget just how much joy and creative fire they can fuel within all of us. To let go of our imagination is to let go of our power to create wonder in the world.

The Power Of A Child By Rafi Perez

So I created this piece to symbolize what I believe is the power that we can easily misuse as adults. As a kid, I was constantly told to get my head out of the clouds and grow up. Yet the most powerful moments in my life came as a result of allowing myself to dream bigger than what seems to be possible.

The Power Of A Child By Rafi Perez

I think we all use our imagination… I mean, when you are stressing out about something that hasn’t happened yet, you are using your imagination.

I try to imagine several impossible, amazing things every day. Things that are full of possibility and wonder… Things that make me feel like I can achieve anything.

This little girl symbolizes the power of our imagination and returning to that magical time of being in control of what you picture in your mind. Molding your thoughts into impossible dreams of awesomeness.

The Power Of A Child By Rafi Perez

I am stoked to announce that she made it into the Cinco Banderas Exhibition at Artel Gallery. If you are in Pensacola, stop by the gallery and see her. Reception for the show is November 4th 2016 from 6pm-8pm at Artel Gallery on Palafox.
