This photo was taken in 2010, just after Klee and I filmed our very first music video. A whole 15 years have passed since then, but it’s been like cramming several lifetimes into one.

Klee and I had met just a year earlier, two creative humans on a mission of self-discovery, armed with guitars, a cheap camera, and more ambition than ever to enjoy life. We blazed our own trail—sometimes running, sometimes tripping face-first into the dirt, but always getting back up.

Fast-forward to now: this past month has been the most challenging stretch of our journey—health scares, stress, and a lot of unanswered questions. But here’s the twist ending: we made it through. Klee now has a confirmed diagnosis of chronic colitis, and while it’s not the news anyone hopes for, it’s news—a concrete answer to work with. And better yet, there’s a plan!

Therapy begins on the 28th, and in the meantime, Klee is feeling better every day. Watching her strength and resilience has been like seeing a masterpiece come together, one brushstroke at a time. (Cue the romantic, artsy metaphor. You saw that coming, didn’t you?)

So, here’s the moral of the story: life is messy, unpredictable, and sometimes feels like it’s actively trying to trip you up. But when you’ve got someone by your side who makes the messy parts worth it, you find a way to keep going. You dust yourself off, face the next challenge, and keep writing the story.

Fifteen years in, and we’re still adventuring, still creating, and still learning how to navigate this beautiful chaos. Here’s to the next chapter—because the best stories always have a few plot twists.
