from The Nature of Being series
This piece from The Nature of Being series explores that quiet, powerful space where stillness and growth meet. The figure stands almost suspended in a moment of softness, with her branches flowing outward like thoughts, memories, and possibilities stretching into the world around her. Her roots anchor her gently, not holding her down, but keeping her connected to who she is.
In this series I focus on the idea that we are always growing, even when the growth is subtle. In this painting, that subtlety becomes the entire mood. Her pose is calm and inward, almost like she is listening to her own spirit. There is a sense of introspection, of taking a breath and feeling herself expand from the inside out. Trees do this naturally and quietly, and so do we, even if no one else sees it happening.
