ABOUT THIS PAINTING
This is part of a series called “Me And It.” The series helped me push the boundaries of creating art for myself vs. trying to follow trends. The series is based on misconceptions we have. These are grotesque little monsters that are the opposite of the representation of what it means to be grotesque and a monster. In essence, you can’t judge a book by its cover. Just because an idea or concept is popular doesn’t mean it is always right. This series allowed me to go against the grain of the concept of “fine” art and create something meaningful and fun to me. Thus creating for myself and like-minded humans in the world. This series represents ALWAYS being yourself, regardless of your perception of how you SHOULD be. Yes, this series is fun, but its meaning has always been life-changing in my pursuit of happiness in life.
These little monsters come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. Let them bring a smile to your lips as you discover your power in being who you are.
