It’s Been A Long Musical Journey

In the enchanting tale of our creative endeavors, a chapter that resonates profoundly is our musical journey as the duo behind “Better On The Drums.” Some of you might be privy to our secret musical venture, a band conceived with a touch of whimsy to remind us never to take ourselves too seriously. Contrary to the band’s name, neither Klee nor I are percussion maestros, but therein lies the charm of our musical escapade.

For Klee, the journey in the realm of music stretches far back, adorned with numerous milestones on an impressive resume. The stages she has graced, from the iconic Double Door in Chicago to the illustrious Key Club in Los Angeles, echo the depth of her musical odyssey. Her initiation into the world of live performances occurred at the tender age of 19, a moment that was both terrifying and exhilarating.

It was terrifying… I remember before going on stage the very first time, hoping some force of nature or unforeseen event would cause the show to be canceled so I wouldn’t have to face my fears. The terror and exhilaration of getting on stage though, the lights, the huge sound, the energy of the crowd… letting go and giving it everything you’ve got… there’s nothing like it.

Years later, our paths converged, and Klee and I hit the road together. Up until that point, my musical repertoire had been limited to clumsily strumming a guitar for a few months. However, Klee, with her seasoned musical background, became the guiding force that breathed life into our band. She not only inspired but challenged and coaxed musical expressions from me that I never deemed possible.
