We are thrilled to officially announce Mural Fest 2026, happening on August (Prep Day 21st) and (22nd Festival Day) right here in Oil City!
Whether you’re an avid art collector, a lover of the outdoors, or just someone looking for a fun weekend out with family and friends, Mural Fest was built to celebrate the vibrant energy and creative spirit of our community.
Here is everything you need to know about what’s coming, how it works, and why you won’t want to miss it.
What is Mural Fest?
Mural Fest is a two-day celebration of public art, local culture, and community talent.
Unlike a traditional art show where finished pieces hang quietly on a gallery wall, Mural Fest brings the creative process outdoors and to life. We are building 4-sided “Mural Monoliths”, and over the course of the festival, 16 selected artists will paint 2ft x 5ft mini-murals live right in front of your eyes!
You’ll get to watch raw wood transform into stunning public art in real-time, chat with the artists, and feel the excitement of live creation.
Inspired by The Beautiful Area We Live In
This year, all participating artists will be designing their mini-murals around themes that celebrate the very best of our region: Local Nature, Recreation, Trails, and Biking. Expect to see vibrant interpretations of our local landscapes, winding rivers, forest trails, and community pride.
Mark Your Calendars: Festival Schedule
- Friday, August 21st – Prep Day: The artists arrive, set up, and start laying down their outlines and base layers. Come sneak a peek at the early stages!
- Saturday, August 22nd – Main Event (11:00 AM – 6:00 PM): Festival Day! Watch all 16 artists paint live, enjoy the atmosphere, and see the finished monoliths revealed.
- Join us right in the heart of town at Town Square (the park in front of 100 Seneca)!

- $200 Artist Stipend provided upon completion of your mural
