The Grind Almost Killed Me. So New Book On The Horizon.

If you’ve noticed things have been a little quieter around here lately, it’s because my body finally did what my brain refused to do for years: it forced me to stop.

I hit a wall. Hard. Between the endless cycle of creating, editing, managing the business, teaching, and running the markets, I wasn’t just burning the candle at both ends, I was throwing the whole candle into a bonfire. I ended up on a couch, staring at the ceiling, pumped full of Doxycycline, realizing that the “Cult of Busy” had officially taken over my life.

And the worst part? It was all wrapped up in the trap of success.

When Klee and I first started out, things were simple. Nobody knew who I was. I’d pack up a truck, head to the market, throw down some art, and hang out. It was pure, unadulterated play. But as the years passed and our beautiful community grew, that popularity quietly started adding weight. Suddenly, there were expectations. An audience waiting. A business to run. A monster algorithm to feed. Without realizing it, I turned my dream job into a high-stakes factory line.

I know so many of you are feeling that exact same heavy, anxious knot in your chest right now. We’ve been sold a toxic lie that to be a successful creative or entrepreneur, you have to suffer, grind 24/7, and sacrifice your health.

An artist wearing a red bandana is sitting at a cluttered desk, writing in a notebook while surrounded by various artworks, including paintings and sketches. The workspace features tools, papers, and an acoustic guitar in the background.

Well, I’m burning that lie to the ground.

While recovering on this couch, I didn’t just redesign my schedule, I redesigned my entire life. I stopped tracking hours like a factory worker and built a system based entirely on human psychology, boundaries, and pure, uninhibited play. I call it The Creative Compound (that’s a working title).

I am writing a brand-new book all about it, and it’s coming your way by next year.

This book isn’t a corporate, self-help lecture full of rigid calendars and boring time-management tips. It’s a manifesto for the creative rebel. I’m pulling back the curtain on how I split my day into a literal physical journey through my creativity and how I limit my work to a flexible window of just 3 to 5 hours a day. Believe it or not, less really is more.

I’m going to show you how to out-produce the grinders while reclaiming your total freedom every single day to just live.

I’m living the proof of this system right now as I research and reorganize everything in my life. It’s the only reason I’m able to handwrite a book, paint hundreds of canvases, record an original album, edit weekly videos, and run our business without ending up back in a hospital bed.

Stay tuned and we can we break out of the prison of busy together. For now, I’m heading back to the porch with Klee to enjoy life.

Go play today.
