It’s that time of year again where Klee and I spend so much time in our studio, that when we do head out and about, it feels like we are two aliens visiting earth for the first time.
But, I love this time of year, holiday music, festive lights, and all around joy and goodwill. It is also Black Friday sales and the kick off to the holiday shopping season.
So, to stay in the spirit of the holiday season, Klee and I are doing a sale on EVERYTHING (except calendars) in our online stores. So instead of fighting off crowds and wrestling a woman to the ground for the last Suzie Pee’s A lot Doll, you get to enjoy the sale from the comfort of your own home.
Black Friday through Cyber Monday Sale! Save 15% on every item in my shop, and free domestic shipping!
Here are some of the items for you to enjoy!
All Sale prices are listed on the website so check it out, and don’t forget, this online sale ends on Monday Night.
Recently I was asked to create a piece that was unique and quite amazing. It was amazing for three reasons…
Reason 1, I mean, just look at it!
Reason 2, I couldn’t believe that I had never created a piece like this, considering that my wife and partner in crime… (or creation) is a jewelry designer.
Reason 3, It’s just so freaking cool!
Two very amazing individuals who have collected Klee’s jewelry and some of my work approached us with a request.
“We love both of your work and would like to be able to display them together.”
They came by the studio and we spent some time discussing an idea they had. Which, I’m going to just say, they are quite fun and inspiring to hang out with, and there might have been wine involved, although, I think the wine came later… either way, we love those two, and it was fun discussing ideas.
They searched and found the perfect piece of wood for the project, which was really cool, because at that point it became a collaboration between the four of us.
I have to say, I am especially proud of this piece. The fact that my art, Klee’s art, and their ingenuity brought this to life, shows me how powerful unity and creative thinking can be.
As some of you know, I won best artist for 2016 which was so awesome and I can’t thank you enough for making that happen. I’ve gotten to use it as boasting rights well into 2017 with statements like “Oh yeah? Well, were you voted best artist of the coast for 2016? I think not!”
Actually, I don’t do that at all, I get really shy around people that congratulate me for the award, then I secretly try to change the subject.
Don’t get me wrong, I am proud of the accomplishment, and I am so grateful to everyone that voted for me, but I’m a weird bird that is still working on receiving compliments and recognition.
That being said, there are two days left to vote. and I would love for you to vote for Klee and I if you are absolutely in love with our work.
Here’s the thing, we love you whether you vote for us or not, but it would be really cool for you to vote for your favorite peeps regardless if they are us or not.
Happy Sunday! I start you off with an amazing quote I heard this week that made me smile:
Spend your life doing strange things with weird people. – Tiffany Patton
This week has been an awesome one for us! I finished a mural in downtown Pensacola, and Klee has created something that pushed her skill set to the next level. Enjoy this Sunday’s art for your inbox.
Downtown Pensacola Mural
“I am so excited to announce that the mural is finished. It is located in beautiful, historic downtown Pensacola on Palafox St. It was such on honor to be allowed to add my creation to this beautiful town.” -Rafi
“This hand faceted labradorite caught my attention the moment I saw it. I think I even gasped a little with excitement. I see imagery in the stones I work with, sometimes landscapes and sometimes fantastical far off places straight out of a storybook. This one immediately made me think of far off galaxies visible in the sky on a very clear dark night, or a fantastic display of the northern lights on a cold crisp evening.” -Klee
Happy Sunday! This week has been an interesting one for us, full of website crashes, eye injuries, and a near-wet experience at the market. All that being said, the results are awesome. Our website is now a bazillion times better than it was, I took time to relax and gather my thoughts on what to create next, and we had more time to work on things in the studio. Plus, I decided that every Sunday I would post “Art Creations In Your Inbox” and show you what we’ve been working on.
The Patronus Charm By Rafi Perez
“Needless to say, I am a nerd. I love all things fantasy and sci-fi, so after Klee and I had a Harry Potter marathon, this piece is what came of it. It is called “The Patronus Charm” and is based on the concept that J.K Rowling had for the dementors and getting rid of them. Dementors are metaphors for depression, and the Patronus charm is what repells them by focusing on happy powerful thoughts. Yep, told you… nerd. Oh, and yeah… It glows in the dark. My plan is to create different patronus animals in the future, or by request.” -Rafi
Vertical Bar Pendants By Klee Angelie
“These are my new favorite thing to make and wear, featuring rustic hammered texture on one side and stamping on the other. They are reversible and personal.” -Klee
My Guardian Power By Rafi Perez
“The beautiful Klee Angelie modeled for this piece. It represents my belief in guardian angels. Yep, when I was a kid, I felt like there was something that protected me, but instead of fluffy, fat little angels, I felt it was a bad ass.” -Rafi
Swan Lake By Klee Angelie
“This moonstone was especially cool to work with, because it has a black tourmaline inclusion on the backside that looks just like a swan.” -Klee
Autumn Sky By Rafi Perez
“There is something magical about Autumn. The changing colors of leaves, The brisk cool air, and the feeling that anything is possible, is why I love the Fall so much. This piece captures that for me.” -Rafi
Pyrite Ring By Klee Angelie
“I’ve been experimenting with a style of raw and elegant looking ‘Claw Prong’ settings and I absolutely love how this Pyrite and Sterling ring turned out.” -Klee
