Some art for you, and a cup of coffee… it doesn’t get much better than that. I start you off with an amazing quote I heard this week that made me smile:

Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself. -George Bernard Shaw

I love this quote… I reinvented my life years ago, and realized that I didn’t need to find myself. As it turns out, I was there all along. I think I was too busy trying to find myself in other people and trying to be something I wasn’t.

So, I created the life I wanted, because I wasn’t going to find it sitting there, just waiting for me.

I also like putting myself outside of my comfort zone… Like painting live on stage in front of hundreds of people.

Every year, I look at how I feel about my life, and reinvent myself a little. I think it’s an ongoing thing… The sweet adventure of life.

Anyhow, we’ve had a creative week in the studio. I just finished some pretty amazing pieces that will be displayed in a downtown Pensacola business.

Of course, the beautiful Klee has finished some amazing pieces… Probably because she’s a creative genius and all that.

Here are some of our creations this week:

“Harmony In Chaos” Woven Sterling Silver Cuff

Klee Angelie Jewelry

This is a redesign of one of my absolute favorite original designs. About eight feet of Sterling silver wire gets woven into itself to create this very random looking, yet harmonious flow. Eleven accent beads of 14k yellow/rose gold fill, and black tourmaline are nested atop the woven design like a constellation or shimmering pebbles in a creek bed. Eleven accent beads represent a balance, and eleven is my favorite number. Historically, within some belief systems, eleven represents disorder or chaos. Interestingly, within other symbolism it represents justice and balance, self awareness and spiritual awakening. So therein, we find harmony and chaos. It’s meant to look like something that could have been created by Mother Nature herself, yet you can see the human intention in the design as well.

-Klee

Eight Sides To The Deep Blue

Rafi Perez Art

This is part of a series that was inspired by the calming sounds of the ocean.  It just came to me, this image of the octopus in the serene quiet blue of the ocean. -Rafi

“Silver Elm” Sterling Silver And Pyrite Tree of Life

Klee Angelie Jewelry

When I was creating this pendant, feelings of Autumn breezes, warm and cool color tones, and crisp fresh air filled my mind and danced through my imagination. Fall is my favorite season and this tree which seemed to whisper “I am a magical, strong and flexible Elm, favorite home to the elves.” Was a representation of everything I love about Autumn. It sits gracefully on a faceted pyrite stone, the “Stone of Luck” said to create good energy, good fortune and feelings of upliftment.

The Harmony Of Reason And Imagination

Rafi Perez Art

The numbers and Geo lines represent reason and logic. The combining of colors and lines represent imagination. The fact that you see a place in your mind, or even a story, from all that randomness is quite amazing. It’s imagination and reason, coming together… creating a world that lives only within your mind.

This week is the beginning of the holiday awesomeness for us. Which means we’ll be spending a lot of time in the studio. We also have a full schedule of festivals, shows, and some new creations in the works. Enjoy this weeks creations:

Rustic Hammer Textured Cuff Bracelets

klee-angelie-jewelry

“I love texture; how something feels to the touch and how a rich texture can appeal visually as well as physically. These hammer forged bracelets are full of the kind of rustic elegant textures that I adore.”

klee-angelie-jewelry-1

“There’s something that’s old world meets contemporary about them. And watching them take form as I’m creating them, it never gets old for me.” -Klee

The Deep Blue

rafi-perez-art-2

“This is part of a series that was inspired by the calming music that came on Pandora in the studio. It just came to me, this image of the Blue Whale in the serene quiet blue of the ocean.” -Rafi

“Sanctuary” Garden Quartz Necklace

klee-angelie-jewelry-2

Garden Quartz is a fascinating variety of included Quartz crystal, with inclusions of different mineral types and colors which often resemble vibrant gardens or underwater scenes. Each one is unique, no two are ever the same. I call this the ‘sanctuary series’ because each one is like a personal secret garden.” -Klee

Quiet Passion

rafi-perez-art-1

“The holding of the white rose to symbolize the quiet passion that flows through our inspiration.” -Rafi

Willow Tree With Blue Sapphire “Stars”

klee-angelie-jewelry-3

“This very thoughtful anniversary/birthday gift was an awesome commission project for some people that I love most dearly. I was happy to take on the challenge and create this willow tree with blue sapphire stars dangling above it. It has all kinds of number symbology represented within the design, and can be worn at three different lengths.” -Klee

Butterflies

rafi-perez-art-3

” It never fails, show me a butterfly, and watch me stare in awe. This piece brings the magic I feel to life.” -Rafi

Happy Sunday! I start you off with an amazing quote I heard this week that made me smile:

Spend your life doing strange things with weird people. – Tiffany Patton

This week has been an awesome one for us! I finished a mural in downtown Pensacola, and Klee has created something that pushed her skill set to the next level. Enjoy this Sunday’s art for your inbox.

“This hand faceted labradorite caught my attention the moment I saw it. I think I even gasped a little with excitement. I see imagery in the stones I work with, sometimes landscapes and sometimes fantastical far off places straight out of a storybook. This one immediately made me think of far off galaxies visible in the sky on a very clear dark night, or a fantastic display of the northern lights on a cold crisp evening.” -Klee

Pensacola Mural Is Finished!

It has been an interesting journey, full of hot, inferno like days, and epic downpours, but I am proud to announce that my mural, in beautiful downtown Pensacola, is finished!

If you are in Pensacola, you can see it at Marty Campbell Gallery, located at  114 Palafox Pl, Pensacola, FL 32502

I wanted to capture the beauty, and history of this amazing town. The aliveness in a flowing work of art, that expresses how awesome the people, and this town have been to me. So, thank you Pensacola, this is my gift to you, hope you like it.

This town has been so supportive of me and my art career, that I wanted to give something back to express my gratitude.

When the opportunity arose to do this mural, I thought long and hard about the message that I wanted to express.

If there is anything I have learned from this experience, it is that your mindset is everything. It has been overwhelming, amazing, problematic, fantastic, and enlightening. The weather and some of the politics involved, could have easily caused my mind to downward spiral, and it did for a few moments. Luckily, I’m too stubbornly positive.

So, the power behind staying positive, no matter what obstacles stood in my way, made all the difference. Staying in tune with why I was creating the mural in the first place, was more important than drama. It shows in the work, and shows me how important it is to stay tuned to love.

That is my message.

The other thing I’ve learned, is to never schedule a mural in the middle of a deadly Summer heat wave. Just sayin.

Toward the end of the project, I asked for quotes from the amazing people that have a connection with myself and Pensacola. They are hidden among the images in the Mural. The response was so positive that I ended up with way more quotes than I can fit into the design. All the quotes were so amazing that I’m saving unused quotes for future projects.

The quotes in the downtown Pensacola Mural:

Be brave. –Jamie Hullenbaugh

Love makes magic happen! -Brandi Rodeghero

This is going to be the kind of year you THINK it’s going to be”. – Daniel Grooms

Thank you God for another day! – Cherie

What would you do if you knew you could not fail. – Phyllis R.

In order to truly move forward, we must let go of the past. – Jessa

Listen with your heart, feel with your soul. – Cera M

Do you know why you’re the best? You’re the best because you’re …you. – Jim Billy Barnes

The only consistent thing in life is the inconsistencies. – Catawissa Mo

It’s best to be a first rate version of yourself than a second rate version of somebody else. – Jennifer

May we always be endlessly inspired by the stuff of life. – Klee Angelie

Make today so awesome yesterday gets jealous. – Amanda and Aaron

Make it better. – Terri

Breathe in, breath out, move on – Peggy Cole

Spend your life doing strange things with weird people. – Tiffany Patton

“Adapt. Improvise, Overcome.” –The Marines -Lorraine

You are beautiful. – Daniella M

With A Little Help From My Friends Like You. Please help.

Hello you awesome person you! As you know I’ve been working on a mural in beautiful downtown Pensacola, and I need your help.

mural 1I’ll be finishing the mural in the next few days, which is super exciting for me. I am aiming to get it done before Gallery Night on Friday, September 16th, and there is something special I would like to ask you.

The very last finishing touch of this mural is going to be small, positive quotes, throughout the design. Originally, I was thinking of using famous quotes, but I think there is something much more special that can be done with this piece.

mural

Please send me your special quote… please?

I would like you to send me short, special, positive quotes that either you say, heard, or read. It could be something that someone you know said, and it inspired you, or a mantra that you say to yourself that gets yourself going. It could be a famous quote as well, as long as it means something to you.

This mural will capture your quote for the world to see, for as long as it stands in downtown Pensacola.

I would love for as many Pensacolians as possible to submit their quote, but I hope to get responses from other cities, and all around the world.

Just send me your quote, the person that says it (leave it blank if you want it to be anonymous) and your city.

You can leave it in the comments, respond to this email if you are subscribed to me, or send me an email. You can also leave your quotes on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or any of my other social accounts.

Also, please share this with anyone that you think would be interested.

Please respond by September 15th, 2016 7:00pm.

Thank you! You are awesome! I’ll be posting pictures and stuff when it is done… or you can visit downtown Pensacola and see your quote. 🙂

My Saturday Night Art Party

I was asked yesterday if I was going to an event that we were invited to, called “Art Party is Dead.”

My answer was “no, I already have plans.”

Now, I’m sure “Art Party Is Dead” was a blast for everyone that went. I’m also sure that among the body painted performers and neon lighting, people were wondering where Klee and I were.img_8278

For the record, we are hermits, don’t drink all that much, and are socially awkward… But that doesn’t usually stop us from uncomfortably socializing and pretending to be normal.

Like I said before, we had plans…

We were having our own awesome art party with some very special guests to our studio.

There was music, art, imagination, wonder, good friends, pretty girls, good lookin’ dudes, and even some body paint… Lots of body paint… But probably not the kind of body paint you are thinking.

If you ever want to watch something great, give a paintbrush and some paint to a 1 year old and let them take over… It’s amazing, and scary all at the same time.

Also, watching a child paint seems to bring magic back into the world… Just sayin.

So if you are ever wondering what an awesome time looks like for an artists like me… It looks like this:

img_8280

img_1340

So, thank you for the invite, and I do apologize for not going (maybe next time), but as you can see… Awesomeness was to be had in my art studio.

Also, thank you to my special guests… Hope you enjoyed the visit 🙂

Some Like It Hot

Hola awesome!

Have you ever found yourself in an oven, desperately seeking a way out? If you do, then  you’re probably meatloaf… or an artist painting a mural in Pensacola Florida in the summer.

mural 4

It is coming along beautifully, and I’m really proud of the evolution that it has taken. I can’t wait to show you guys the finished product… Soon. It looks like my adventures in painting the Pensacola mural may be coming to an end fairly soon, as I am now putting the finishing touches on it. Of course, it’s me, which means finishing touches may take a couple week.

If there is anything I have learned from this experience, it is that your mindset is everything. It has been overwhelming, amazing, problematic, fantastic, and enlightening. Because of the weather and politics involved it could have been easy to let my mind downward spiral, and it did for a few moments. Luckily, I’m too stubbornly positive.

The other thing I’ve learned is to never schedule a mural in the middle of a deadly Summer heat wave… Yay me! That’s it for now, I’m going to get back to my movie… Fiddler on the roof… LOVE THIS MOVIE!

I’ll update you soon! Thank you for being so awesome!
