These two toned gold and silver earrings are simple, modern, pretty and so much fun to wear. Featuring hand carved 3mm fine silver faceted nuggets, 14k yellow gold filled wire rivets and 14k yellow gold filled ear wires, they move flawlessly, have great light play and will look great with almost anything.

THE DETAILS
-Earrings are 14k yellow gold filled wire and ear wires.
-Earrings feature fine silver (95-99% pure silver) hand carved hexagonal nugget beads which are 3mm width.
-Total length of earrings from top of earring hook to bottom of design is 35mm (1 3/8″).
-Earring drop length from connecting point at bottom of earring hooks to bottom of design is 25mm (1″).

ABOUT GOLD FILLED JEWELRY
Gold-filled jewelry is composed of a solid layer of gold, which must constitute at least 5% (1/20) of the item’s total weight, mechanically bonded to sterling silver or a base metal (such as jeweler’s brass). Gold-filled items are 5 to 10 times thicker than regular gold plating, and 15 to 25 times thicker than gold electroplate, making it much more valuable and longer lasting because gold-filled has an actual layer of karat gold, not just a microscopic film as on plated jewelry which is estimated to be 0.05% or less of the metal product. Most gold-filled is 12kt or 14kt gold-filled (I use 14kt for my pieces). Gold-filled does not de-laminate or peel like plated or “dipped” products. It is tarnish resistant and does not tarnish as readily as silver. Many find that they never have to clean gold-filled items at all. However, from time to time your jewelry may become dirty from everyday wear. To clean gold-filled it is best to use mild soap and water.
ABOUT FINE SILVER
My fine silver beads and components are made completely by hand in the remote mountain area of Northern Thailand by the Karen Hill Tribe. Known and respected for their skill and expert craftsmanship in silver smithing, and using centuries old techniques, these artisans create pieces of a distinctive style unique to them. Karen Hill Tribe silver pieces are made of a higher purity than 92.5% sterling silver. Because the actual range is 95-99% purity, these pieces are softer, have a whiter color and will not tarnish as readily as sterling silver. Beads may have a visible seam. Sizes and shapes may vary slightly with these handcrafted items. All of my Hill Tribe fine silver is purchased directly from the source using ethical and fair trade practices.
