Inspired by the 1920’s Art Deco “Pools Of Light” jewelry designs, a luminous genuine quartz crystal orb dangles and catches light beautifully as the focal point of this “Y” style lariat necklace. The style is two tone mixed metal, made in solid sterling silver, fine silver, and 14k yellow gold filled. A nod to the golden age with a modern minimalist aesthetic, this necklace is versatile, adjustable and so much fun to wear alone or layered with other necklaces.
This necklace is made to order, the one in the photos is sold and yours will be created just for you with it’s own luminous quartz crystal orb.
THE DETAILS
-Lariat features a genuine polished 10mm round quartz crystal orb, center drilled.
-Quartz orb is mounted on a solid sterling silver torch fired headpin which runs through the center of the orb and then wraps fluidly around both sides. Bottom of headpin is left darkened from torch firing to add contrast and a contemporary edge to the design.
-Chain is a 14k yellow gold filled 1.5mm width cable chain with spring ring clasp.
-Three beautiful fine silver 2.5mm hexagonal nuggets adorn the chain creating links which the clasp can hook onto.
-Necklace is adjustable and can be clasped at the following lengths: 16″, 18″, 20″, 22″. The higher up the necklace is clasped, the longer the bottom “Y” portion becomes. Last four photos show necklace worn at all the length options. Total length of necklace laid flat from spring ring to top loop of quartz orb is 22″.

ABOUT GOLD FILLED JEWELRY
Gold-filled jewelry is composed of a solid layer of gold, which must constitute at least 5% (1/20) of the item’s total weight, mechanically bonded to sterling silver or a base metal (such as jeweler’s brass). Gold-filled items are 5 to 10 times thicker than regular gold plating, and 15 to 25 times thicker than gold electroplate, making it much more valuable and longer lasting because gold-filled has an actual layer of karat gold, not just a microscopic film as on plated jewelry which is estimated to be 0.05% or less of the metal product. Most gold-filled is 12kt or 14kt gold-filled (I use 14kt for my pieces). Gold-filled does not de-laminate or peel like plated or “dipped” products. It is tarnish resistant and does not tarnish as readily as silver. Many find that they never have to clean gold-filled items at all. However, from time to time your jewelry may become dirty from everyday wear. To clean gold-filled it is best to use mild soap and water.

My fine silver beads and components are made completely by hand in the remote mountain area of Northern Thailand by the Karen Hill Tribe. Known and respected for their skill and expert craftsmanship in silver-smithing, and using centuries old techniques, these artisans create pieces of a distinctive style unique to them. Karen Hill Tribe silver pieces are made of a higher purity than 92.5% sterling silver. Because the actual range is 95-99% purity, these pieces are softer, have a whiter color and will not tarnish as readily as sterling silver. Beads may have a visible seam.
